Bourbonnais, IL – Drivers in Bourbonnais should expect lane restrictions and periodic delays as the village begins its annual Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Road Improvement Program this week.
According to the Village of Bourbonnais, crews began asphalt milling and paving today on the following streets:
- Sunridge Drive
- Jennifer Lane
- Stefanie Lane
Officials said work on these streets is expected to take several days before crews move to the next scheduled locations.
On Tuesday, construction crews are scheduled to begin asphalt milling, patching, and paving on:
- Grand Avenue
- Francis Road (near Olivet Nazarene University)
The work is part of the village’s 2026 Motor Fuel Tax Road Improvement Program, which includes resurfacing and pavement improvements at multiple locations throughout Bourbonnais.
Village officials are urging motorists to use caution when traveling through construction zones, obey posted traffic signs, and watch for workers and equipment. Temporary lane closures, reduced speeds, and minor travel delays are expected while crews complete the improvements.
Additional road projects are planned throughout the construction season, with maps released by the village showing several streets scheduled for future pavement work.
Residents are encouraged to allow extra travel time when driving through affected areas and to remain alert for changing traffic patterns as construction progresses.
