Boston, MA – The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton says a weak low-pressure system will move across southern New England Sunday evening into early Monday, bringing isolated rain and snow showers before a brief period of calm early in the week.

According to the latest outlook, high pressure returns Monday, providing a short-lived break in the weather. By Tuesday afternoon through Friday, a series of weak disturbances will bring periods of rain, light snow, and gusty breezes, especially across eastern Massachusetts and coastal areas.

Forecasters note that no major winter storms are expected at this time, but wet and unsettled weather will dominate mid- to late-week, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday when rain chances rise above 50% in areas such as Boston, Worcester, and Springfield.

Daytime highs are forecast to remain in the upper 30s to mid-40s, with overnight lows near freezing inland. Commuters should prepare for occasional slick spots early Monday and wet roads midweek as temperatures fluctuate near the freezing mark.
