Boston, Mass. – Much of Massachusetts is enjoying a picture-perfect Saturday with sunshine and highs in the low to mid-80s, though a brief shower may pop up inland by late afternoon. Coastal areas will stay slightly cooler under a steady sea breeze.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, the bigger concern arrives Sunday as heat and humidity surge back into the region. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s to lower 90s away from the immediate South Coast, with a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible.

Cities such as Worcester, Lowell, and Springfield could see the most uncomfortable heat, while Cape Cod and the Islands remain cooler but sticky. Boston itself is projected to hit near 90 degrees, raising the risk for heat-related issues during outdoor events.

Travelers should be alert for rapidly changing conditions Sunday evening, as storms may bring brief downpours and gusty winds. Officials recommend limiting strenuous activity during peak heat, staying hydrated, and keeping an eye on local alerts in case storms intensify.

The National Weather Service says unsettled conditions may linger into early next week, with additional storm chances on Monday.

Five Day Forecast for Boston, MA:
