Boston, Mass. – Sunshine will dominate the weekend in Massachusetts, but chilly nights are about to remind residents that fall is around the corner. Lows tonight will settle in the 40s across much of the state, with some urban centers staying in the lower to mid-50s.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. However, a sharp temperature drop follows after sunset. Outlying towns could dip into the mid-30s Saturday night, with widespread lows in the upper 30s and 40s elsewhere.

Eastern and central Massachusetts should see crisp mornings, with frost not out of the question in the coldest inland valleys. Meanwhile, Boston and Worcester will hold slightly warmer overnight, but residents are urged to bundle up for early morning plans.

Travel conditions remain favorable with clear skies, but cooler overnight air could impact outdoor events and early tailgating. Families are advised to dress in layers and prepare for quick swings from afternoon warmth to nighttime chill.

Conditions stay dry into Sunday with highs again in the upper 60s and lower 70s. More seasonal weather is expected to continue into early next week, with no major storms on the horizon.
