BOSTON, Mass. – Sunshine and comfortable air will carry much of Massachusetts through midweek before showers and thunderstorms arrive Friday with a passing cold front. Highs Wednesday and Thursday will stay in the 70s with relatively low humidity, offering some of the nicest late-summer weather the region has seen in weeks.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Wednesday will be partly sunny with only a brief, spot shower possible. Thursday follows with more dry, pleasant weather, temperatures ranging from 74 to 79 degrees, and low humidity levels.
The pattern changes Friday as a cold front sweeps into eastern Massachusetts. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms could develop, particularly in the afternoon and evening. While severe storms are not guaranteed, residents should keep an eye on changing conditions if planning outdoor activities or travel ahead of the weekend.
Travelers on I-90 and I-95 may encounter wet roads Friday, and brief downpours could slow commutes around Boston, Worcester, and the South Shore. Residents are advised to check for updates as additional advisories may be issued.
The main stretch of pleasant weather continues through Thursday, but the wettest period arrives Friday with the cold front.
