Boston, MA – Residents across eastern Massachusetts can expect a quiet and seasonably cool weekend, but changes are on the way as snow and rain showers move into the region early next week.

According to the National Weather Service Boston, dry and breezy conditions will continue through Sunday and Monday, offering mostly sunny skies and calm travel conditions. High temperatures Sunday are expected to reach the low-to-mid 40s, while Monday cools slightly with highs in the 30s.

The next notable weather system arrives Tuesday, bringing a mix of snow and rain showers across much of eastern Massachusetts, including Suffolk, Middlesex, Norfolk, and Essex counties. Forecasters say temperatures will hover in the upper 30s to low 40s, creating the potential for slippery roads during the morning and evening commute, especially in inland areas.

Conditions improve again by Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies returning and highs staying in the 30s. However, the break may be short-lived.

Looking ahead to Thursday, the NWS notes a slight chance of additional rain showers, with temperatures again reaching the upper 30s to low 40s. Drier weather is expected for Christmas Eve, though forecasters caution that more unsettled weather could develop toward the end of next week.

Drivers are encouraged to stay alert Tuesday, especially during periods of mixed precipitation. Travelers heading out for holiday plans should monitor updated forecasts as timing and temperatures could shift.
