Boston, MA – A calm stretch of dry and mostly sunny weather will carry Boston and much of eastern Massachusetts through midweek before rain and strong winds arrive late Thursday and continue into Friday.
According to the National Weather Service office in Boston, Tuesday and Wednesday will remain dry, with plenty of sunshine and seasonably cool conditions. High temperatures Tuesday are expected to range from 29 to 35 degrees, with light winds helping to keep travel conditions favorable. Overnight lows will dip into the upper teens to around 30 degrees.
Conditions moderate slightly on Wednesday, with highs climbing into the low to mid-40s. While skies remain mostly sunny, forecasters say breezy conditions will develop, especially during the afternoon.
Weather conditions begin to change Thursday, as milder air moves into southern New England. Highs are expected to reach the mid-40s to near 50 degrees, but clouds will increase through the day. Rain and strong, gusty winds are forecast to arrive late Thursday night, signaling the start of a more unsettled pattern.
The most impactful weather is expected on Friday, when widespread rain and strong gusty winds are likely. Temperatures will start mild, with highs reaching the mid-40s to mid-50s, before a cold front moves through early Friday afternoon, causing temperatures to fall and winds to shift.
By Saturday, conditions improve as colder, drier air settles in. Skies are expected to turn mostly sunny, with highs ranging from 32 to 39 degrees.
The National Weather Service advises residents to monitor forecast updates for potential wind impacts late Thursday into Friday and to plan accordingly for changing travel conditions.
