Boston, MA – New England residents can expect a classic fall stretch of weather this week, with sunny days and chilly nights continuing through Friday before a noticeable warm-up arrives for the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service Boston, daytime highs will remain in the lower to mid-60s Wednesday and Thursday, with nighttime lows dipping into the upper 40s and even the upper 30s in some inland areas. Friday will stay cool as well, with temperatures ranging from 65 to 70 degrees, but overnight lows could fall into the upper 30s once again.
The cooler nights will give the region a crisp, autumn feel, particularly away from the coast. Closer to the shoreline, slightly milder conditions are expected, but residents should still plan for sweater weather in the mornings and evenings.
The weather pattern shifts on Saturday, when temperatures are forecast to climb into the mid to upper 70s across much of Massachusetts, including the Boston metro area. Lows are also expected to stay milder, in the upper 40s to mid-50s, marking the start of a warmer trend that could last into early next week.
The National Weather Service notes that the combination of sunny skies and comfortable afternoons will make for ideal outdoor conditions heading into the first weekend of October.
