Boston, MA – Commuters across southern New England should brace for a wet start to the week as a line of storms moves through Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Boston/Norton.
Rain chances will climb sharply overnight, peaking at 85–95% between 6 a.m. and noon Monday for much of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Locally heavy downpours and isolated rumbles of thunder are possible, particularly in areas from Boston and Providence west to Hartford and Worcester.
Meteorologists say the rain will taper off during the afternoon, though scattered showers could linger into early Tuesday. No widespread severe weather is expected, but drivers should plan for slower commutes, reduced visibility, and areas of ponding on roadways during the morning rush hour.
Rainfall totals are expected to range between 0.5 and 1 inch, with slightly higher amounts possible where heavier showers develop.
