Boston, Massachusetts – Seasonably cold temperatures will settle in through the weekend, with a low chance for snow showers late Friday night into early Saturday along major corridors including I-93 and I-95.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, fairly quiet weather is expected across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and northern Connecticut through the weekend. Temperatures will trend cooler beginning Thursday and remain near to slightly below normal into Saturday.

Forecast highs Wednesday range from the mid-30s to around 40 degrees across much of the region, including Boston, Worcester, Providence, and Hartford. By Friday and Saturday, daytime highs are expected to remain largely in the 30s, with overnight lows dipping into the 20s.

A weak system may bring a few snow showers late Friday night into early Saturday. At this time, forecasters indicate only a low probability of measurable accumulation, but brief slick spots could develop on untreated roadways, especially along Interstate 90, Interstate 91, and Interstate 95.

The National Weather Service is also monitoring a potential late-weekend system, though confidence remains low regarding its track and whether it will significantly impact southern New England.

Commuters, college students, and weekend travelers should prepare for colder air and monitor forecast updates, particularly if traveling overnight Friday.
