Boston, MA – Clouds are expected to give way to sunshine across Massachusetts today as warm and somewhat humid conditions settle into the region, according to the National Weather Service in Boston.

High temperatures are forecast to reach between 80 and 84 degrees in much of the state Sunday, with slightly cooler readings in the 70s along the south coast. The day will begin with lingering clouds but will brighten from west to east as the afternoon progresses.

According to forecasters, the warmth will be paired with mild humidity, making it feel like a summer afternoon despite the late-September calendar. Communities inland from Worcester to Springfield are likely to see the warmest readings, while Cape Cod and the South Coast remain several degrees cooler.

Tonight, conditions will turn noticeably cooler as skies clear. Overnight lows are expected to fall into the upper 40s to around 60 degrees, with the coolest spots likely in interior valleys. The National Weather Service notes that patchy fog could develop late at night, especially in low-lying areas.

The pleasant weather continues to mark a transitional pattern for southern New England, with seasonably warm afternoons followed by crisp, cooler nights.
