Boston, MA – A blustery Thursday is in store for Massachusetts as a surge of cool air and strong northwest winds move across the region, according to the National Weather Service in Boston.
Forecasters say temperatures will dip below seasonal averages, with highs mainly in the upper 40s to low 50s across much of the state. Gusty northwest winds of 20–35 mph are expected throughout the day, with occasional gusts up to 40 mph possible over higher terrain and the outer Cape.
According to the National Weather Service, areas such as Hyannis, Nantucket, and Worcester may feel the strongest winds, while inland locations including Springfield and Lowell will also see brisk conditions. Despite the chill, skies will remain mostly dry and sunny.
The gusty conditions are expected to ease Thursday night as temperatures fall into the upper 30s to low 40s. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items and use caution while driving high-profile vehicles, especially on exposed roads and bridges.
