Boston, MA – Boston is set to close January with below-average temperatures, marking back-to-back colder-than-normal months.
According to the National Weather Service, January temperatures are running 1.9 degrees below average, following December’s slight drop. The last time Boston experienced consecutive colder-than-normal months was in spring 2020.
Historical comparisons reveal similarities to February 2015, which was one of Boston’s coldest months on record with a 12.7-degree drop. Residents have noted the difference from typically milder January conditions.
