Lebanon, IN – Drivers traveling through Boone County should prepare for delays as lane closures begin this week on U.S. 52 for bridge maintenance near Lebanon.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), contractors will begin closing one lane at a time on or after Tuesday, July 7, on U.S. 52 over Prairie Creek, near County Road 250 North.
The alternating lane closures are needed so crews can waterproof the bridge deck, part of ongoing maintenance designed to extend the life of the structure.
The work zone is located just west of Interstate 65 near Lebanon. Motorists should expect temporary traffic restrictions and use caution while traveling through the area.
INDOT said the project is anticipated to continue through July, with the schedule dependent on weather conditions.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, remain alert for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time if passing through the corridor.
For the latest traffic updates and road conditions, motorists can visit INDOT’s traffic information resources before traveling.
