Bolingbrook, IL – A Bolingbrook man is in custody after allegedly pointing a handgun at a woman during a domestic dispute. Jay M. Mercer, 33, was arrested on August 6 at approximately 5:47 p.m. following an incident at a residence on the 400 block of Sioux Drive.

According to Bolingbrook Police, officers responded to a report of a man with a gun and discovered Mercer arguing with a woman outside the residence. Officers secured the scene, detained Mercer, and recovered multiple firearms. No injuries were reported. The case has been presented to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Mercer, of 103 Wedgewood Way, faces charges including aggravated assault, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful use of a weapon. He has been transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
