BOISE, Idaho – Low gray clouds drift across the Treasure Valley this morning, breaking just enough to reveal streaks of early sunlight on the foothills. Damp roads and a cool, crisp breeze mark the transition to a brief round of scattered showers today before drier, calmer weather quickly returns to southern Idaho.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, a few light showers are expected through midday Sunday, mainly north and east of the city. Rain chances near 50 percent taper by this evening, with only spotty drizzle lingering as skies begin to clear. Highs will hover around 52°F, with winds shifting lightly from the southeast to northwest at 5–8 mph.

The air dries quickly by Monday. Sunshine dominates from the Owyhees to the Boise River basin, with temperatures climbing into the low 50s under calm winds. By Tuesday and Wednesday, highs rebound to the mid- to upper 50s, delivering near-perfect conditions for late-fall cleanup, early decorating, or outdoor commutes along I-84.

Evenings remain cool, dipping to the low 30s, so gardeners should continue to protect tender plants. For Halloween Friday, early signals show ideal trick-or-treat weather — mild, clear, and calm — with temperatures staying in the 50s during prime hours.

For now, the Treasure Valley shakes off a light, passing shower pattern and settles into classic late-October sunshine. Models hint at a colder air mass pushing south by next weekend — the early whisper of a chilly November ahead.
