Boise, Idaho – Idahoans should brace for a stretch of dangerous summer heat as high temperatures push into the upper 90s early next week, with Boise expected to flirt with triple digits by Friday. Drivers, hikers, and outdoor workers are being urged to prepare for long stretches of hot, sunny afternoons and little cooling relief overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, Saturday will top out near 92 degrees under mostly sunny skies. A brief cooldown Sunday brings highs closer to 89, but a warming trend begins Monday when temperatures soar into the mid-90s. By Tuesday, Boise could hit 97 degrees, with widespread upper 90s likely across Ada, Canyon, and Elmore counties.

Overnight lows in the Treasure Valley will only dip into the mid-60s, limiting the body’s ability to recover from daytime heat. Outdoor events, irrigation systems, and local infrastructure may be impacted as the heat persists through late week. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

A slight 20% chance of thunderstorms lingers Sunday night, but no significant rain is expected. The hot, dry pattern remains locked in through at least Friday, with more advisories possible if temperatures continue to climb.
