Boise, Idaho – Scattered thunderstorms are expected to push across the Idaho mountains Sunday afternoon, with Baker County, southern Twin Falls County, and higher elevations most likely to see showers. Drier, breezy weather returns Monday before a cooler, unsettled stretch moves in Tuesday through the end of the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Boise, high temperatures in Boise and the Treasure Valley will hover near the upper 80s Monday, but a sharp cooldown follows as highs settle into the low to mid-70s Tuesday through Friday. Mountain communities such as McCall, Stanley, and Sun Valley will dip into the 50s and 60s with daily storm chances continuing through Thursday.
Rain chances climb Tuesday and Wednesday, especially in the central mountains where locations like Banner Summit and Brundage Mountain could see frequent afternoon showers. Travelers on Highways 21 and 55 should plan for wet pavement and brief visibility reductions during storms.
Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items ahead of gusty winds Monday and keep devices charged in case of isolated outages during midweek thunderstorms.
Unsettled conditions are expected to linger into Friday before temperatures gradually warm next weekend. Additional updates and advisories may be issued if storm activity strengthens.
