BOISE, Idaho – A round of light rain will move across the Treasure Valley early this week, followed by a stretch of classic fall sunshine returning by Thursday. The system brings patchy fog, cooler mornings, and a few damp commutes before conditions steadily improve.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, scattered showers will develop Tuesday morning and linger through Wednesday, with the best chances between late morning and early afternoon each day. Rainfall totals will remain light, but low clouds and fog could briefly reduce visibility for drivers on I-84 and U.S. 20 during the morning hours.

By Wednesday night, showers will fade and skies will clear as drier air builds over southwestern Idaho. Temperatures will rebound quickly, with highs reaching the low 60s Thursday and mid-60s Friday under mostly sunny skies. The calm, cool mornings that follow may bring areas of patchy valley fog, especially along the Boise River and near Caldwell.

Drivers are urged to use caution in early-morning fog, and residents should prepare for cooler starts with overnight lows dipping into the upper 30s by late week. Outdoor events, harvest work, and fall yard prep should benefit from the return of drier, stable weather through the weekend.

According to forecasters, a weak system may approach early next week, but no significant rain or wind impacts are expected at this time.
