BOISE, ID – The National Weather Service in Boise says the coldest temperatures of the week will hit Thursday night, with most Idaho locations dipping below freezing before a significant weekend warm-up.

Forecasters expect lows ranging from the upper teens in Stanley and McCall to the upper 20s and low 30s across the Treasure Valley, including Boise, Caldwell, and Nampa. By Saturday, however, the region will rebound sharply, with highs in the mid-60s across the Boise metro area.

According to the NWS forecast, Friday morning will still bring frosty conditions, but temperatures will gradually climb through the weekend:

  • Boise: 31°F low Thursday night, 69°F high by Saturday
  • Caldwell: 30°F low Thursday night, 65°F high by Saturday
  • Twin Falls: 30°F low Thursday night, 64°F high by Saturday

Drivers and early risers are urged to watch for patchy frost and icy spots Friday morning, especially on bridges and shaded roads.

The NWS added that the return of mild weather should last into early next week before another cooling trend develops by midweek.
