Aurora, IL – A 35-year-old man was found dead in the Fox River near Hurd’s Island in Aurora on Tuesday. Police and fire crews responded to the scene at 1:54 p.m. after receiving a report of a body in the water.
The man was preliminarily identified through distinctive tattoos. Police say he was last seen Monday evening at a local shelter. Early examinations found no evidence of trauma or foul play.
The Kane County Coroner’s Office took custody of the remains and scheduled an autopsy for Wednesday. The autopsy will confirm the man’s identity and provide insight into the cause of death.
