Crown Point, IN – A cleanup crew working along I-65 discovered a body in a ditch Thursday morning, prompting a homicide investigation.
According to Indiana State Police, the crew was clearing debris near the U.S. 231 ramp to southbound I-65 at 9:20 a.m. when they found the body lying in the west ditch. Troopers and detectives from the ISP Criminal Investigations Division, Lowell Post, responded to the scene. Authorities quickly suspected foul play.
Investigators confirmed the deceased is a male, but his identity remains unknown. Officials are withholding further details until they notify his family. The Lake County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The Crown Point Police Department assisted in the investigation.
