Blue Earth County, MN – Deputies responded to a serious single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon just north of Mankato that sent one man to the hospital and temporarily shut down a section of Lime Valley Road.
According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. on October 21, 2025. Deputies identified the driver and only occupant as 50-year-old Jeffrey James Mann of Mapleton, who was driving a 2003 black Chevrolet Impala.
Preliminary reports indicate Mann was traveling south on Lime Valley Road when his vehicle crossed the oncoming lane, entered the east ditch, and struck a utility pole. Deputies said the impact brought down power lines, forcing a temporary closure of the roadway while crews secured the area.
Mann was transported by Mayo Ambulance to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Mankato Fire, Mankato Police, and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
Authorities said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
