Mackinaw City, MI – The Mackinac Bridge Authority has issued a blowing snow warning for the Mackinac Bridge on Wednesday morning, urging drivers to reduce their speed to 20 mph, use low-beam headlights, and drive with caution.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, snow and wind have combined to create reduced visibility across the Straits area. Bridge crews are monitoring the situation and may implement additional safety measures if conditions worsen.

The advisory, posted early Wednesday, warns that snow squalls may cause sudden whiteout conditions at times. Motorists are encouraged to delay travel if possible and stay tuned to AM radio 530 or 1610 for real-time updates on bridge status.

Officials remind drivers that speed restrictions are enforced for safety and may remain in effect until weather conditions improve later in the day.
