Bloomington, IN – Indiana University police have arrested two suspects following a series of package thefts reported across campus this week, according to a release issued Friday.

According to the Indiana University Police Department (IUPD), officers first responded on Wednesday to a report of multiple packages stolen from Pi Kappa Phi on David Baker Avenue. Later the same evening, officers were called to Zeta Tau Alpha on North Eagleson Avenue for another report of stolen packages. Police said the thefts occurred between 5:30 and 6:15 p.m. on December 5.

According to IUPD, officers quickly began investigating both incidents and were able to identify two suspects: Abigail Danser and Austin Forrest, neither of whom have IU affiliation. Police said both individuals were interviewed and allegedly admitted to stealing more than 75 items from campus-area residences over several days.

On December 8, officers arrested the pair on charges of felony burglary and misdemeanor theft. Both were transported to the Monroe County Justice Building for processing. Police did not release additional details about the stolen property or whether the items have been recovered.

IUPD is now asking for assistance from the community. Officials encourage students or residents who believe they were victims of package theft between December 5 and 7 to contact Sgt. Jared Myers at jaimy ers@iu.edu or call 812-855-4111.

Authorities noted that more victims may come forward as students return to campus housing and check for missing deliveries. The investigation remains active, and additional charges are possible as police continue gathering information.
