Schaumburg, IL – Schaumburg residents will have the opportunity to give back and receive health benefits during the Schaumburg Community Blood Drive scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 1320 W. Schaumburg Rd.

According to the Village of Schaumburg, each donation will include a free hemoglobin A1C test, which screens for risk of prediabetes and diabetes. Donors will also receive a coupon for a free Culver’s frozen custard and an entry into a Target gift card drawing.

Organizers said that while appointments are encouraged through Vitalant, walk-ins will be accepted. For those who register, a customizable T-shirt is also available through the Vitalant Donor Rewards program.

The event is being hosted in partnership with Vitalant, a nonprofit blood services provider. Blood supplies traditionally dip in late summer, making drives like this critical for maintaining hospital stock.

Community members are encouraged to participate, as a single blood donation can help multiple patients in need. Village officials noted that the added incentives, including free testing and giveaways, provide both a health benefit and a token of appreciation for those who donate.
