Davis, WV – A blizzard warning remains in effect for Eastern Tucker County, including Thomas, Canaan Valley, and Davis, as hazardous winter weather conditions persist.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh issued the warning, which is active until 7 a.m. Friday. Forecasters predict additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, combined with wind gusts reaching up to 50 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, visibility may drop below 1/4 mile at times due to falling and blowing snow, creating dangerous travel conditions. Drivers are urged to plan for slippery roads, particularly during the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. The high winds may also lead to downed trees and power lines, increasing the risk of outages.

Residents are advised to take precautions and avoid unnecessary travel. Updates on snow accumulations can be reported by calling 412-262-1988, posting to the NWS Pittsburgh Facebook page, or using Twitter @NWSPittsburgh.
