Blacksburg, VA – It’s a quiet but cloudy Saturday across much of southwest and central Virginia, with mild temperatures and only a slight chance of rain late tonight, according to the US National Weather Service Blacksburg, VA.

Highs today will range from 54 to 68 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies and light winds. Rain is expected to move in from the east on Sunday afternoon, spreading across the region and reaching as far west as the Blue Ridge Mountains. Showers are forecast to taper off overnight Sunday.

By Monday, skies will clear for a warm and pleasant Columbus Day, with highs between 63 and 73 degrees. A few isolated morning showers may linger near the Piedmont, but forecasters say most of the region will see bright sunshine and mild conditions by afternoon.

Travelers should plan for damp roads Sunday but better driving weather Monday as high pressure returns to the area.
