Blacksburg, Virginia – Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers are expected across southwest Virginia today as a low-pressure system passes to the south, with drier weather arriving Sunday and Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, rain showers today will be scattered and should gradually clear by tonight. Afternoon high temperatures are expected to range from the upper 30s to the upper 40s across the region.
High pressure returns on Sunday, bringing mostly sunny and dry conditions. Temperatures will remain near seasonal averages, with highs ranging from the mid-30s to the lower 50s and overnight lows falling into the lower 20s to lower 30s.
Monday is forecast to remain mostly sunny and dry, with a slight warming trend. High temperatures are expected to reach the lower 40s to lower 50s, while overnight lows again dip into the 20s and lower 30s.
The National Weather Service noted that temperatures will stay near normal in the short term before beginning a gradual upward trend during the first full week of 2026.
For commuters and outdoor plans, conditions are expected to improve significantly after today as dry weather and sunshine return.
