Blacksburg, VA – The National Weather Service in Blacksburg reports that a strong cold front will move through the region Wednesday night, bringing a return to snow for the mountains of western and southwest Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

Forecast Highlights:

  • Timing: Snow develops Wednesday night, continuing into Thursday morning.
  • Areas Affected: Western Greenbrier County, WV; higher elevations along the Blue Ridge; possible light snow reaching as far east as the I-81 corridor.
  • Impacts:
    • Slick and icy spots on untreated roads and overpasses.
    • Reduced visibility during snow showers.
    • Minor travel inconveniences expected (WSSI – Low Impact).
