BLACKSBURG, VA – Light snow is expected to move into the region early Friday morning, bringing 1 to 3 inches of accumulation across the mountains, according to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg.
Areas east of the Blue Ridge may only see a light coating, but slick spots are possible on untreated roads and bridges. The highest snowfall totals are likely across western Greenbrier County and nearby higher elevations.
Snow will gradually taper off by Friday night, though periods of reduced visibility and patchy ice could impact the Friday morning commute.
Travelers are advised to slow down, increase following distance, and use extra caution on elevated surfaces where ice forms more quickly.
