Blacksburg, VA – Snow continues across southwest and central Virginia this morning, gradually tapering off from west to east by midday, according to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg.
By noon, most of the region will see snow ending, but cloudy skies, flurries, and patchy freezing drizzle will linger through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will remain cold, holding in the upper 20s to low 30s, limiting melting and creating the potential for slick travel conditions—especially on untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses.
Tonight, freezing drizzle may redevelop in some areas, causing refreezing of slush and wet spots. Drivers should use caution, as black ice will be possible overnight.
The weekend will stay mostly cloudy and cold, with highs only in the low to mid-30s, but dry conditions are expected to return Saturday and Sunday.
