La Crosse, Wisconsin – Snow will move into Jackson County after midnight, covering roads in Black River Falls before the Friday morning commute begins.
According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight tonight until 9 a.m. CST Friday for Jackson County. Forecasters expect up to 3 inches of snow, with wind gusts reaching 35 mph.
Snow will develop overnight and may fall steadily through the pre-dawn hours. Gusty winds could blow snow across open stretches of Interstate 94 and Highway 54, briefly lowering visibility and creating slick patches on bridges and overpasses. Rural roads north and west of Black River Falls may become snow-covered quickly if snowfall rates increase toward sunrise.
Local crews are expected to treat primary highways, but untreated secondary roads could remain slippery into mid-morning. Drivers should reduce speed, allow extra stopping distance, and check 511wi.gov for updated road conditions before traveling.
The advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Friday, with conditions gradually improving late morning as snowfall tapers and winds slowly ease.
