Authorities identified the driver as Matthew Hair, 39, of Boyd, who allegedly showed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming fentanyl and methamphetamine. He was arrested after field sobriety testing.
Deputies reported locating suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. A passenger, identified as Summer Copeland, 26, of Boyd, allegedly also showed signs of impairment.
Hair was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges including Operating While Intoxicated, 6th Offense, Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, deputies said.
Copeland was also taken into custody and booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of Felony Bail Jumping, Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Authorities added she was being held on a probation detainer.
