Davis, WV – Residents in eastern Tucker County are facing dangerously cold conditions as a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Friday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh, wind chills could drop as low as -15°F, increasing the risk of frostbite and hypothermia for those without proper protection. The advisory covers Thomas, Davis, and Canaan Valley.
Officials urge residents to dress in layers, cover all exposed skin, and avoid extended time outdoors. Pets should be brought inside, and heaters should be used safely to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
While temperatures are expected to gradually warm Friday afternoon, another cold front is possible early next week.
