Caribou, ME – The National Weather Service in Caribou reports that lingering light snow will end by sunrise Monday, giving way to partly to mostly sunny skies. However, cold and breezy conditions will persist, especially across Down East Maine, where patchy blowing snow is possible today with gusty northwest winds.

Unseasonably cold air will remain locked in through the week. Another round of light snow is expected Tuesday night, mainly affecting the Bangor region and Down East.

By Wednesday afternoon and night, a quick-moving weather system will bring another light snow event across northern Maine, with a mix or change to rain farther south.

Snow accumulations are expected to be light overall, with minimal accumulation near Bangor and the coast due to warmer air moving in midweek.

The NWS advises travelers to watch for slick spots on untreated roads and continue monitoring forecast updates as midweek systems approach.
