Bismarck, ND – A man was arrested Tuesday morning after a high-speed pursuit involving a stolen SUV that reached speeds of up to 120 mph on U.S. Highway 83, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP).

The chase began when a McLean County deputy attempted to stop a red 2022 Chevrolet Suburban reported stolen out of Minot. Authorities say the driver fled southbound, prompting NDHP assistance through the State Emergency Communications Center.

About 10 miles north of Bismarck, troopers deployed spike strips, deflating one of the front tires. Despite losing a tire, the vehicle continued traveling at around 90 mph, running multiple red lights as it entered the Bismarck area. NDHP troopers coordinated with local law enforcement to block intersections at State Street and Century Avenue to protect other motorists.

The chase ended near Century Avenue, where the driver veered into a ditch and fled on foot behind a Family Fare store. Troopers quickly apprehended him without further incident.

Authorities identified the suspect as Martise Lawon Hill, of Bismarck, who allegedly drove with a revoked license. Hill was charged by NDHP with Fleeing, Driving Under Suspension, and Reckless Endangerment. McLean County officials will pursue additional charges related to the stolen vehicle.
