Birmingham, Ala. – Spotty rain and steamy heat will make a comeback across central Alabama today, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and a noticeable uptick in humidity.

According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, scattered showers will develop throughout Tuesday, though no single location is expected to experience rainfall all day. Rain chances are hovering between 40% and 75% across the region, with widespread coverage growing through the afternoon and into tonight.

High temperatures will peak between 86°F and 89°F in cities like Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, and Selma. Birmingham, Jasper, and Gadsden are forecast to reach 87°F, while Eufaula and Demopolis could top out at 89°F.

Drivers should stay alert for slick roads during pop-up storms, especially along I-65 and I-20. With humidity climbing, residents should limit outdoor activity during peak heat and hydrate frequently.

By tonight, lows will settle in the upper 60s to low 70s, with continued rain chances overnight. Showers will linger into Wednesday, with broader coverage expected midweek.

Rain chances will continue to rise through Thursday, with stronger storms possible later in the week.
