Birmingham, AL – Central Alabama residents should prepare for hot conditions and the chance of scattered afternoon storms through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham. High temperatures are forecast to reach the low to mid-90s, while overnight lows will fall into the upper 60s to near 70.
According to the National Weather Service, isolated showers and thunderstorms could develop both Saturday and Sunday afternoons, bringing brief downpours and lightning. The most widespread activity is expected during peak heating hours, though coverage will remain limited.
Today, temperatures will climb to 94° in Birmingham, 95° in Tuscaloosa and Montgomery, and 92° in Auburn. Tonight’s lows will dip into the upper 60s across much of the region, with Montgomery holding closer to 70°. On Sunday, conditions remain warm, though slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
While no severe weather is currently expected, forecasters caution that any thunderstorm could produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall. Residents planning outdoor activities are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and take shelter if storms develop.
This warm pattern continues the unseasonably hot stretch across Alabama, though slightly cooler temperatures are expected early next week.
