Birmingham, AL – North and central Alabama residents will see summer-like conditions Monday as highs climb into the low 90s under mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
Forecasters noted a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms across northern counties this afternoon and evening. Most areas, including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Montgomery, are expected to stay dry.
Overnight lows will range from the mid-60s to near 70°, offering only modest relief from the daytime heat. By Tuesday, conditions turn warmer, with highs reaching into the mid-90s in parts of central Alabama, including Demopolis, Selma, and Montgomery.
The pattern sets up a stretch of late-September heat as high pressure keeps skies mostly clear. While the northern tier of the state—Hamilton, Gadsden, and Jasper—faces the best chance of scattered rain, the Birmingham metro and surrounding areas are forecast to remain largely dry through Tuesday.
The National Weather Service advises residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, especially as temperatures rise further midweek.
