Birmingham, AL – Most of Alabama will stay dry Monday with only isolated showers expected in northern counties, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Forecasters say highs today will climb into the mid-80s to mid-90s, with lows tonight near 70 degrees. Hamilton could dip as low as 57.

According to the NWS, rain chances will increase Tuesday as a cold front moves across the state. The front is expected to bring a line of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could turn strong to severe on Wednesday, September 24.

Cities including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, and Anniston could see temperatures still reaching the low 90s ahead of the front. By midweek, northern and central Alabama residents should be prepared for gusty winds, heavy rain, and possible severe weather conditions.

Forecasters advise monitoring updates closely over the next 48 hours. While Tuesday may bring scattered showers, the greatest risk for impactful storms will arrive Wednesday afternoon into evening.

Residents planning travel or outdoor activities midweek are urged to check the latest forecasts and be ready for sudden weather changes.
