Binghamton, N.Y. – Central New York is settling into a rare quiet stretch of weather this week, with sunshine and mild temperatures dominating the forecast through Thursday. Only a few isolated lake effect showers are possible today, mainly in parts of Central New York.
According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, skies will gradually clear from west to east Sunday, leaving much of the region mostly sunny. Highs will range from the mid-60s to low 70s. A patchy frost risk is possible late Monday night in colder valleys, but otherwise, dry weather is expected to continue.
Syracuse, Binghamton, and Scranton can expect daily highs climbing into the 70s by midweek, with mostly sunny skies persisting. The calm pattern will benefit drivers, as no major travel disruptions are anticipated across Interstates 81, 88, and the Southern Tier Expressway. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the favorable conditions for outdoor activities and late-season yard work.
This stretch of rain-free weather is forecast to hold through Thursday, with gradual warming expected. Updates will follow if any frost advisories are issued.
