Binghamton, NY – Scattered showers and chilly air will settle over much of Central New York and Northeast Pennsylvania tonight, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-40s across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, the light rain and drizzle that blanketed the region earlier Friday has transitioned to on-and-off showers, which are expected to persist into the evening hours. Temperatures will drop to between 42°F in Boonville and 47°F in Ithaca and Cortland, with widespread lows in the mid-40s from Elmira to Cooperstown and down through Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.

Drivers should use caution on rural and secondary roads, especially in higher elevations where wet surfaces and cooler temps could lead to patchy fog or slick spots overnight. Residents in towns like Montrose, Delhi, and Hazleton should plan on damp conditions continuing through the early morning.

While no weather advisories are currently in effect, cooler-than-average temperatures and lingering moisture could create brief travel impacts for early risers. Another update will be issued if additional rainfall or colder pockets develop overnight.
