Binghamton, NY – Strong winds and a few snow showers could create patchy blowing snow across the Southern Tier today before a brief warmup and rain arrive early next week.
A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. Saturday across Broome County and surrounding areas, according to the National Weather Service. West winds of 15–20 mph with gusts up to 41 mph may reduce visibility at times and create difficult travel on open roads.
A slight chance of snow showers continues through the morning with patchy blowing snow possible before skies remain mostly cloudy. High temperatures will reach around 39°F.
Tonight will see increasing clouds and calmer conditions, with temperatures falling to around 25°F.
Sunday stays mostly cloudy but milder with highs near 48°F as light winds develop from the south.
Rain chances increase Sunday night with showers likely after midnight and lows near 41°F.
The warmest day of the week arrives Monday, when showers and possible thunderstorms develop during the afternoon. Temperatures could climb to around 64°F, unusually mild for mid-March.
Colder air returns Monday night as rain may transition to rain and snow showers, with overnight lows falling to around 24°F.
Tuesday turns colder again with highs near 30°F and a chance of lingering snow showers before drier weather gradually returns to the Binghamton area later in the week.
