Binghamton, N.Y. – Sweater weather will greet much of Central New York Tuesday morning, with temperatures dipping into the 40s before rebounding to near 80° under clear skies by midafternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, lows will range from 46° in Delhi to 54° in Penn Yan and Utica during the early hours of Tuesday. Areas like Norwich, Hamilton, and Boonville will also see crisp morning air in the upper 40s. By 2 p.m., widespread sunshine will boost temperatures into the mid-to-upper 70s, with Syracuse, Ithaca, and Auburn peaking near 80°.

Low humidity and light winds will keep conditions pleasant and stable across the region, with no precipitation expected. Travel, school commutes, and outdoor plans can proceed uninterrupted.

Residents are advised to dress in layers, especially for early errands or bus stops. While it’s a welcome break from summer heat, those in rural valleys should watch for patchy morning fog.

This pattern of late-summer calm is expected to hold into midweek, though cooler overnight temperatures may persist.
