Binghamton, NY – The National Weather Service in Binghamton warns that a soaking rain is on the way for central New York and northeast Pennsylvania, beginning late Wednesday night (Oct. 29) and continuing through Thursday, Oct. 30.

According to NWS forecasters, temperatures will fall into the 30s and 40s overnight, with rain moving in from the south between midnight and 8 a.m., depending on location. The heaviest rain will arrive before daybreak and persist through much of Thursday, creating a wet and breezy day across the region.

Timing from the NWS shows steady rainfall beginning around 12–2 a.m. in northeast Pennsylvania, spreading into Binghamton and Ithaca by 2–4 a.m., and reaching Utica and Cooperstown between 6–8 a.m.

Drivers should plan for reduced visibility and slick roads during the Thursday morning commute. Winds will also increase gradually, adding to the chill throughout the day.

Rain is expected to taper off Thursday night, leading to cooler and drier weather Friday.
