Binghamton, NY – A cool and breezy start to November is on tap for Central and Southern New York, with a few scattered lake effect rain showers expected this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton.

Forecasters say most of the region will remain dry and partly sunny, though light rain could develop along the New York Thruway corridor. Highs today will range from the mid-40s north to the low 50s south, with noticeably lighter winds than Friday.

Sunday will bring partly to mostly sunny skies and a gradual warm-up, with highs climbing into the mid-40s to upper 50s. By Monday, clouds will increase as another weak system approaches, bringing a chance of rain showers later in the day, especially in Central New York, with highs near 60°F.

Tuesday’s forecast calls for partly to mostly sunny conditions and a few lingering lake effect showers possible in the north. Temperatures will remain seasonable, in the 50s.

While the weekend starts cool, the National Weather Service expects milder and calmer conditions heading into early next week.
