Binghamton, NY – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Northern Oneida County through 1 a.m. Monday, as snow showers continue across the region today, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton.
Forecasters say a mix of rain and snow will move through the area today, with minor accumulations during daylight hours. However, as the system exits, lake effect snow is expected to develop this evening, bringing additional accumulation north of Rome and Boonville.
Total snowfall amounts of 3 to 7 inches are forecast for Northern Oneida County, with lesser totals—around an inch or less—elsewhere in Central New York.
Another stronger storm system is expected to arrive late Monday night into Tuesday, bringing more widespread snowfall across northeast Pennsylvania and southern New York, where totals could exceed 3 inches.
Motorists are advised to use caution on slick roads, especially in areas affected by lake effect bands
