Binghamton, NY – The National Weather Service in Binghamton reports that bitter cold this morning will transition to slightly warmer temperatures and afternoon snow showers on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

Forecast Details:

  • Timing: Snow showers develop after Noon, continuing through the evening hours.
  • Snow Accumulations:
    • Trace to 1–2 inches possible, mainly over higher terrain.
    • Lower elevations may see light coating or flurries.
  • Highs: Mid to upper 20s, with warmer readings in valleys.
  • Travel Impacts: Brief periods of reduced visibility and slippery roads during snow bands.

A stronger low-pressure system is expected to arrive Wednesday into Thursday, bringing widespread snow, particularly across higher elevations east of I-81.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Northern Oneida County from 3 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday due to the potential for heavier snow and plowable accumulations.
