According to the National Weather Service Binghamton office, the region will see a shift in weather starting Tuesday afternoon, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected to develop. Tuesday’s high is forecasted to be around 83°F, with a 45% chance of rain. This pattern will continue into Wednesday, with a 60% chance of rain and a high of 81°F.
Meteorologists warn that the main threat from these thunderstorms will be heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding, especially in areas with poor drainage. Thursday is expected to bring a brief respite with mostly sunny skies and a high of 86°F.
The weather remains unsettled as we approach the weekend. Friday will see another chance of thunderstorms with a high of 82°F and a 40% chance of precipitation. Saturday and Sunday are forecasted to be partly cloudy with highs around 80-83°F and scattered showers possible both days.
